Where I get my inspiration from

Last year, I’ve written a similar post about my sources of inspiration. I will be honest and tell you that I have not yet peeked at what inspired me last year but I am curious to compare it against my list this year. How many Youtube channels, Instagram profiles, blogs are still on my list? I know on top of my head that I added a few new things that I discovered in the meantime, but I do have blogs and Youtube channels that I’ve been watching and reading for years.

Let me tell you, just thinking of what gets me inspired, gets me inspired. I watch the Youtube channels that I am going to mention while I eat, while I drink my morning coffee or even while I do my makeup and then when it comes to blogs and magazines, I spend 40 minutes on the tube twice a day so plenty of time there. I don’t watch TV, but I do watch this kind of entertainment. For me these are my sources of inspiration that keep me informed and yes of course, entertained.

Ohh Couture

I am pretty sure that this blog was on the list last year also.(I will only peek after I finish writing the main part of this post). Although her style has changed so much in the past year. When it comes to Ohh Couture (Leonie Hanne on Instagram), I have read every single blog post that she has published, especially for the pictures. They were the dreamiest, pastel fantasy that I’ve ever seen and she was always smiling. Every time you looked at her pictures, she made you think that you can be friends, this is how honest  and warm her pictures were. On top of that, I used to love seeing so many beautiful places: Cingue Terre, Hong Kong, Cuba, Dubai, New York, Tulum…the list can go on.

Now the blog has evolved together with her style of photography into something slightly darker, but the interesting part is that if there is anything new in fashion, she is one of the first ones to find out. Especially if you go on her Instagram, that is a huge album of inspiration from all around the world, but especially from the major fashion capitals.

NotJessFashion

This is for sure a newer blog that I started reading. This woman posts 5 days a week…how does she even do it? And when I say 5 times a week, I don’t mean that her posts are full of pictures from Pinterest and with just a few lines of writing – no, 5 proper long posts with her own pictures mostly. This blog is an inspiration both on the fashion side because her style is eclectic which is how I would describe mine also, but from a business point of view also.

I love how saturated in color her pictures are and how intimate the photos that they take at home with the husband and the two beautiful girls. If you are a mother, you can find a good example in her about how to balance your personal and work life. The blog posts that I love the most are the business related ones where she gives advice to us who didn’t make it yet and the personal style ones. She also travels quite a lot so if you are just like me, into both fashion and traveling, you’ll love this one.

In the Frow

This is hands down the best written blog that I’ve ever read. Which is why I am so excited about her first book “The new rules of Fashion” that will be available starting the first of November which I pre-ordered and I am anxious to see it on my doorstep. Victoria from In the Frow gives excellent advice. Life / career related or even travelling, this is the blog to go to. Also, whereas the rest of the blogs that I read tend to stay away from the politics of fashion and influencers, this blog is quite vocal about most things that go on.

My favourite posts are either the travelling ones – India was gorgeous through their eyes or the business advice ones. Can you see a pattern with my inspiration preferences? I either like to be informed of what goes on in the business or I like to day dream with travel pictures that I wish I took myself.

VOGUE UK

I have subscribed almost a year ago and have read every single page of everything that was published since. Even Vogue’s style has changed a lot with the new Editor – Edward Enningful, but I find that there are more and more subjects that I am interested in. Also, when Christmas comes around, I love seeing all the editorials and the beauty related articles that they have. Other magazines that I read quite often even though I am not subscribed to them are Harper’s Bazaar, Porter, HelloFashionMonthly and again around Christmas time, Country and Town House.

Makeup on YOUTUBE

One of the oldest channels that I follow is KathleenLights. I am pretty sure I have written about her before – she has a mix of makeup looks, product reviews and fun “chatty get ready with me” type of videos. Another reason why I keep on watching her is her lovely personality. Any time I need a boost of cheerfulness, I know I can count on her Youtube Channel.

Now a channel that I watch for the most on point product reviews is Tati. She also posts 5 days a week so she does get to try a ton of products on camera. I am just curious like that. Even if I don’t get to try the product myself, I am curious to know about it and Tati is a good source for that. More of a guilty pleasure are her PR Unboxing videos.

For the most on point technique that I’ve ever seen in a youtuber mixed with a lovely personality, is Nikki tutorials. As the name suggests, she does a ton of fun tutorials and my favourites, even though I don’t celebrate Halloween, is the week just before Halloween where she posts 7 in depth tutorials of Halloween looks. So if you do dress up, you know where you can get your inspiration from.

VLOGS

Actually, except my fashion ladies that I follow regularly on Youtube: IntheFrow, Song of Style, LydiaEliseMillen, Amelia Liana, the only vlogs that I do watch, are The Perkins. Desi is one of the huge makeup gurus on Youtube and together with her husband, they vlog PR trips, the occasional Victoria’s Secret show, trips with friends to exotic or icy destinations and are the most fun bunch.

Pinterest

Last but not least because this is where I probably spend most of my time, is Pinterest – the biggest library of pictures. It is no secret that I am a very visual person, but I’ve had my Pinterest account ever since I was in high-school and I have pinned every single thing that I can draw inspiration from. Only last year I started actually uploading my own pictures on Pinterest, but I love the response that they have and how big the platform is.

I just had a look at an older post about Influencers that inspire me and I am surprised to see that more or less, I still get my inspiration from the same people but I have added a few in the meantime. Now I would be curious, who do you follow and if you have any suggestions toward who should I start following on Instagram or Youtube or whose blog you think I would enjoy, let me know in the comments below.

Inspired kisses!

To bronze or not to bronze?

I am latey latey with the blog post. Have you noticed? The dog ate my homework…wait, not this. This summer the hot weather in London with being in air conditioning for 9 hours messed up my entire system. Every time these days that I tried to sit in front of the laptop screen- migraine! Getting back to the question about bronzing, damaging UV left behind, I would say, to bronze! I do realize that to be bronzed does not mean the same thing in every culture, but where I come from, looking slightly tanned is synonymous with looking healthy.

The older I get the more I hear how harming the sun rays are and thinking that I used to bath in them for hours when I was a child… The sun might make us feel healthy in the beginning but abusing it, it can actually age our skin. It’s useless saying how important SPF is any time of the year. This being said, I am looking for a new SPF. I am using the Anthelios from La Roche Posay but it irritates my skin if I use it three days in a row so I need a better solution.

I, personally, despite the fact that I am quite fair, I have the potential of getting a nice tan. This happens only after I attend the tomato competition because first I turn red (bright red) and only after then I start exploring shades of brown. Because of this and because of the lack of time, I started looking for makeup to give me that healthy bronzed look, but without the red, dry too tanned skin effect. I have three makeup products at hand that serve a a very similar purpose, and if you are into makeup, you’ll find an excuse to have all three, just like me.

Urban Decay Beached Bronzer in Sun-kissed

This is my all year round bronzer. The shade suits me both at my palest or at my wow! I have actually been in the sun enough to get a tan. For now I only use powder bronzers so if I want to look healthy, sun-kissed as the name suggests – this is my go to. It’s easily buildable which means that if you have a light hand with it, you will barely see it on the skin, but if you repeat the process a few times – you have the potential of looking like a bronzed goddess.

can you tell how much I like it?

Benefit – Hoola (the original)

This is a tricky one for me. I received a sample of this in one of the beauty boxes and if you have watched makeup gurus on Youtube, you might remember that this bronzer was receiving everyone’s praise. It’s much finer than the Urban Decay one but this also means that if you want to build up a bronzed look, your hand has to be lighter than a butterfly. Personally, I think the problem for me is the shade. Probably the newer version, Hoola light will suit my skin tone better. When I did manage to get nicely bronzed though, the undertone of this bronzer looked like nothing else.

Too Faced – Sweetie Pie Radiant Matte Bronzer

You might ask yourself – radiant matte? What a big fat lie that is? That is a contradiction! But somehow, when you put the bronzer on the face, it makes sense. On my skin, this looks like a matte bronzer except if I do manage to bring it slightly higher, to my cheekbones, it reflects a very natural glow. All honesty, this is my lazy product, the one I use all the time.

Despite the cutest presentation (it really does look like a pie) and the fact that the smell is yummi without being overpowering, this will give you a soft bronzed but blushy look. If I can’t be bothered putting foundation on and it’s just a concealer kind of day, this is what you see on my face to make me look healthy and slightly blushed.

What is your opinion on being bronzed? Do you think it’s necessary, does it make you feel any different and most importantly, what bronzer do you use. Liquid or powder?

Until next time…kisses!

Fitted dresses – pros and cons

There is no better feeling than when we are so confident in our bodies that we just want to put on a very fitted dress and rock the city/club, whatever is your scene. However, this boost of confidence does not happen all the time, might be something to do with our natural cycles, or with the lack of sleep, but one day we might feel on top of the world…and heels, other days, we just want to hide under layers and layers of clothes.

Unfortunately, women more than man are still judged much more because of their bodies. This does not mean that one constitution is beautiful, whereas another one is less beautiful. On the contrary, as superficial as the world we live in is, beauty is still in the eyes of the admirer. On top of everything, we should seek to be healthy. However, for some reason, the way we see our body is influenced a lot by how people react to us and their own opinion of it…hence the fluctuations in confidence.

So, I was curious to see when is it that I am more prone to wear fitted dresses and when I try to stay as away from them as possible.

CONS

Before moving to the UK, my diet was very different. You might remember that I mentioned in a previous post that I realized I am dairy intolerant only after I started living in London. This has led me to give up absolutely any product that contains dairy which was a hassle at first because I used to eat cheese with cheese if you know what I mean. So in the beginning, I tried all the dairy alternatives there are such as Soy yogurt, Coconut yogurt, soy cheese, the different nut milks and so on. Because my body was not used to them, I would bloat like never before which made wearing a fitted dress a big no-no.

Another case in which I stay away from them is when I am tired. In some weird way, my self confidence is directly related to my level of energy. When I am tired, I feel I can’t pull off a fitted dress and most likely, my posture will be the very attractive hunched back…and I haven’t even been to Notre Dame yet.

On a more positive note, if I know I’ll be dancing a lot, I prefer trousers. Reason being, a fitted dress tends to roll up plus, if you have the moves like Jagger, people will have to take your word for it because you will not be able to prove that in a fitted dress.

It’s been a long time since I went on a first date and I’m not planning to go on one either, but I would not wear a fitted, revealing dress on a first date if I wanted him to actually listen to what I say. You do you girl, but keep this in mind if you want some quality conversation and not just the sensual gains of a date.

PROS

If I remember correctly, it is around our mid cycles that we are the most fertile which translates into a boost of confidence. This is probably the time when we are most likely to let our hair down, put on a fitted dress and just have fun.

Also, let’s say you’ve set yourself a target when it comes to your body image and you’ve eaten healthy for the longest time and you’ve worked out regularly. Now, you are the happiest you’ve been with your body. Isn’t this the best time to celebrate your success and put on a fitted dress that will show how proud you are of what you’ve achieved?

Let’s say you want to dress to impress. Let’s play with our imagination and say we need to go to a red carpet event. The best and most common option is a fitted dress. Depending on the length, it can be really elegant, it’s guaranteed that it will photograph well and something that is the closest to living a nightmare…it does not get stuck under your heel and makes you trip over.

Another good enough reason to wear fitted dresses is because they suit you. If you have beautiful curves and you want to show them, why not do so?

What I actually did is cheating a bit. In the pictures below, I am wearing a very short fitted dress, but the lace makes it a bit more forgiving because it doesn’t show it all. How do you like wearing dresses that are a second skin and how many times you ditch them for something more comfortable maybe?

Kisses!

Liquid lipsticks for any occasion | Kat von D

I can now say that I’ve trialed a decent number of liquid lipsticks and know what I want from them. I have really dry lips so I need to stay away from the extremely drying formula, but then, my lips are uneven so I need a liquid lipstick to be creamy enough to redraw my lips shape. The one formula that I go back to every single time and I would not mind owning every single shade, is Kat von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. I wouldn’t mind having even the turquoise in the collection, I would probably not wear it much but every single shade has such a unique undertone.

I first came across these liquid lipstick a year and a half ago when I moved to London. I knew about the brand from Youtube and I was before I got to the actual store. I even recommended somebody to buy a present for a friend of mind, one of the most popular shades – Lolita. When you get to the counter, you might be overwhelmed because there are 54 colours in the collection. Some are crazy bright and there’s little chance that you will find the same one in any other brand, and some are wearable, work appropriate.

1. Work appropriate

I have two shades that I wear for work on repeat. I am now referring to a classic job where your makeup has to be natural, not overpowering your features or your set of skills. If you work for Kat von D, they’d probably encourage you to experiment with colour.

One of the shades, and the first one I bought is Lolita. This is not the original shade, even though I wouldn’t mind that one either, but the first remake, that is a brown nude. This colour makes me look serious, ready for business and slightly more mature, which in job dictionary is more reliable. This is the shade that I wore to my interviews.

The second shade that I wear to work because it brightens up my complexion, is Berlin. In the tube, it looks like a very bright summery pink, but once on the lips, it becomes quite a wearable pink.

2. Summer joy

I was about to write “summertime” when my mind wandered away from the post to how Janis Joplin sings the Summertime song. I know, it’s way before my generation but my parents introduced me to such great music that it stayed with me till today:D

Back to the post, I was about to write that summertime is when we go for brighter colours.  The rays of sun, the heat and our new tan gives us the perfect excuse to take out those neon bright liquid lipstick shades. One of my recent purchases and my favourite among the brighter colours is A-Go-Go. This is a see from the plane slightly neon orange-red. Did I confuse you now? Even if I only got a few hours sleep, this colour brightens up everything that can be brightened…except coffee, that is still a must.

Now for summer’s pink, I chose Beloved. This is a colour I think I can’t pull off if I am not tanned. It’s more of a pastel pink which, if I am not wearing the right makeup, might make me look washed out. So summer it is then!

3. The odd one

This is one of the first colour that I bought also and I actually wore it a lot that winter. i am talking about the Damned shade. It’s such a dark burgundy brown…makes me think of all the Vampire series I watched in the past few years. This colour would be perfect if you like something dark on the lips but don’t want to go for black.

The only drawback is that if you eat while wearing Damned, it is a bit harder to reapply. What I mean by this is that when we eat oily food, it’s most likely that only the liquid lipstick from the center of our lips rubs off, the rest stays intact. So when we reapply, it is quite hard to reapply only to the center but if you put an extra coat of this shade, it looks thick. This does not happen though, with any of the other shades mentioned.

liquid lipsticks | miss casual

Have I made you curious yet? Keep in mind that I have terribly dry lips. This liquid lipstick still dries out my lips but not too badly. The thing is, I don’t need to reapply this lipstick throughout the day only if I eat, and even then, I might still be able to pull it off. Which of the colours is your favourite?

Eyeshadow palettes I am not using anymore

My eyeshadow palette collection is not a huge one. I would say that it’s bigger than I’d need it to be, but It’s not even close to what we see on Youtube nowadays. Even so, I have eyeshadow palettes that I am not using.

Most often, the reason for this is packaging. If the eyeshadow palette is bulky and can’t fit in with the rest of the palettes, it’s bound to be exiled somewhere else and be forgotten. Other times, the colour combination could be the one that is holding me back from using the palette. It can be that it’s not inspiring me or that I have similar colours to those in an eyeshadow palette that I already use.

Also, please keep in mind that what you are about to see are not necessarily bad palettes, these are palettes that I am just not grabbing every single week for some reason or another. The pictures will not be the clean, perfect ones we are so used to seeing on Instagram. Some of these palettes are dusty which you’ll be able to see on the mirrors which did not seem to want to be cleaned…just  thought I’d give you a heads up.

1. Kat von D – Metal Matte

When this eyeshadow palette came out I was so excited! It was interesting how depending on how you held the packaging, it said either metal or matte. Also, the eyeshadows inside seemed so exciting and for the longest time, they were. I used this palette a lot.

The metallic eyeshadows are very pigmented and soft and are a pleasure to wear, except the purple one which for some reason, the moment I apply it, it changes colour slightly. Same goes for some of the matte eyeshadows. I know it’s a strange thing to complain about, but if I need a particular shade and when I apply it it becomes ashier that I want it to be, there is not win there, right?

The main problem however, is how big this eyeshadow palette is. It does not fit with any of the rest of my palettes and most often, even though it’s a very good quality palette, I forget I have it or I can’t be bothered taking it out from where I found a place for it.

eyeshadow palettes | miss casual

2. Too Faced – Sweet Peach

This eyeshadow palette was used like a hero before it was almost retired. Do you know how we always see in police movies that after they retire, some officers just can’t mind they own very quiet new life and keep in doing what their job was for years? This is how this palette is. I have used up completely the white in the palette and I have two more metallic eyeshadows that I use quite often and the matte coral shade. Other than that, the rest of the eyeshadows lay untouched.

This is something that I heard happens quite a lot with Too Faced eyeshadow palettes. There are a few very good quality eyeshadows, some that are good but won’t knock you off your feet and others that you won’t even waste your time with. That is exactly what is happening with this eyeshadow palette.

This does not mean that all Too Faced eyeshadow palettes are like this. I am still loving my Chocolate Gold one and it’s hard not to use it every day. Other than that, The Sweet Peach palette has a very slim packaging which is why I keep it with the rest of my palettes and after more than two years of use, it still smells like peaches, but not in an overpowering way.

eyeshadow palettes | miss casual

3. Urban Decay – Full Spectrum

This is another palette that got me so excited at first because of all the bright colours. Of course, I don’t wear bright colours every day so I knew that I won’t be using this eyeshadow palette a lot but I am still not using it as I should be.

There are two problems with this palette: the packaging and the quality. The packaging is not that bad, but if you’ve ever been in an apartment in London, you know that space is gold. Which this palette is taking up a bit more space than the rest and it’s not giving the same satisfaction as the rest are.

The biggest issue though, is quality. I tried a wet brush, dens brush, finger, still, some of the eyeshadows are not as pigmented as I wanted them to be. Especially when you have bright colours, if you need to build them up too much, be sure that the excess that did not want to stick to your lid, is now under your eyes. Again, there are so many great Urban Dceay eyeshadow palettes, but this is not one of the best.

eyeshadow palettes | miss casual

4. Huda Beauty – Rose Gold

How I loved this palette! I still do, but not as I used to. When I first saw the colours I was in for the ride. I did not mind at all that the metallics are a different formula than anything on the market and that they looked more like a chunky pigment on your lids, I loved that! I still use most of the textured eyeshadows in the palette.

It is almost unfair that this eyeshadow palette is in this blog post, but truth is, even though I love it, I seem to favor other palettes when I do my makeup. The matte eyeshadows are slightly drier than the ones in the Desert Dusk palette but they are still good eyeshadows: they are pigmented and blend well. However, I just seem to prefer the tones in my other palettes.

I have not tried the Remastered edition of this palette, but if Huda kept on improving her eyeshadows, they must be good because the rest of her palettes are amazing!

eyeshadow palettes | miss casual

These are the 4 palettes in my collection that I don’t use that often, from various reasons. The most serious one is the quality one, which means that it’s only a matter of time until I declutter them. I do have single eyeshadows that I don’t use that often either but that is my fault: I did not organize them in ages so that I will need to reach for one palette of singles and not three half empty ones.

Do you have eyeshadow palettes that you don’t use very often? How do you “convince” yourself to using them more?

Latest makeup post – here

Two makeup looks with Naked Heat

I might have promised a few posts ago that I will do a few makeup looks with the Naked Heat palette from Urban Decay. I used this palette a lot lately and now I feel comfortable to say that I can do an actual review. The surprise is, even though I used it considerably more than the last time I wrote a post about the palette, my thoughts have not changed. It’s still a very concise palette colour-wise which if you are a beginner, it’s perfect because it will not allow you to choose colours that don’t go with each other.

With metallic and shimmery eyeshadows, we all know they are in general very good. They are easy to apply, have a good pay-off and they are easy to blend. With matte eyeshadows though, they are not always what we’d expect. Sometimes they turn out dryer than we expected, less pay-off and the biggest problem is that they cling to one part of the lid and don’t seem to blend any further. Not these ones!

I am more in a matte eyeshadows phase and also, the matte ones in this palette are really good so I have prepared 2 makeup looks using only the matte eyeshadows in the Urban Decay- Naked Heat palette. Also, I added a twist for both look, something that can change your makeup look completely.

1. Office makeup look

makeup look | miss casual

A very simple, almost natural makeup look. This is my go to for work because the colours are neutral and even though I am wearing makeup, it looks minimal. Also, if you need the sensation of lifted eyes, which is a few extra hours of sleep, using the darker colour in the outer corner will help you reach that.

makeup look | miss casual

As I told you at the beginning of this blog post, I am only using the matte colours in the Naked Heat palette and FYI – they were really, really easy to use. If you look at the first four colours, they looks so similar to each other but that is exactly the reason why you can create dimension easily.

To switch things up and to use another product that gets forgotten about most often, I elevated the makeup look with a liner which after drying, I’ve smudged lightly with the darkest colour in the palette. If you have hazel eyes, this colour will make them look so green!

makeup look | miss casual

This makeup look is still work appropriate, but it’s much more fun!

2. In a rush makeup look

makeup look | miss casual

It’s only now that I see that I should have brought the brick-red a bit higher, but in real life, this was not so obvious!:D If you are in a rush, this is the quickest makeup look. I still used the transition shades in the crease because I wanted to test-drive as many eyeshadows as possible, but truth be told, this makeup look would have worked just with the one main colour all over the lid.

makeup look | miss casual

Depending on what you use in the inner corner, this makeup look can be for day or night, the trick is – it is very quick to do!

Also, I wanted to use a highlighter that I don’t use on my face too much but ever since I had a friend over that played with my makeup and used it in the inner corner, it got used a little more.

makeup look | miss casual

This duo-chrome highlighter might be too intimidating to be used on the face, but on the eyes, we can use it however we want. Inner corner is easy but I was curious if I were to put it on top of a matte eyeshadow, would it still look nice and not make the eyeshadow move?

makeup look | miss casual

And as you can see, it does change everything. I applied it with my finger because it’s too fine for the brush, but it did not move the matte eyeshadow underneath at all. Yuppi, I’ll do this again.

Which of the makeup looks is your personal favourite and which one do you think you’d wear more often?

Kisses!

Travelling to Oxford + Bershka SALE

Most of our days when we go out shooting are well planned. We wake up early in the morning and travel to the locations, if you can call it that considering how big London is. Some day however, we wake up and lack the motivation. This can be because of tiredness as I still work full time or it can be lack of excitement towards the location.

Thursday was one of this kind of days. We had planned to go shoot in London but something did not seem right. I have been quite tired lately so we decided to skip our usual early morning and slept a bit longer. It felt like a day off. We were both looking for places in London where we could go so that we can start the engines but it seemed like we were missing the fuel – motivation.

Until Paul suggested we travel to Oxford. Of course the question “Oxford or Cambridge” came up but Oxford is just a bit further and because we had the entire day to ourselves, thought it would be a good opportunity to see a bit more of the UK. For both of us, probably travelling is what we enjoy doing the most on our days off. Of course, for us travelling also means a road trip, figuring out outfits and shooting them.

Oxford City is just about an hour and a half away from London but it’s completely worth travelling to it. Probably the most impressing part to me was the University. To anybody who saw Harry Potter, this will look quite familiar. And then, I had the same feeling that I had in Bournemouth – locals seem to enjoy time differently than Londoners. For one, most of them own a bike which makes me think that they are healthier also and second, it seems like they have much more time in a day, they are more relaxed. Then, the center of the city is quite young because of the students but when it comes to tourists, the curious tourists, they come at any age.

Would we go again? Most definitely, but after we saw Cambridge. I send Mom some pictures from the day and consequently, when they come to visit next, they have “booked” a trip to Oxford already which we don’t mind. Also, for the first time, my Instagram stories were a bit different. Instead of just showing you random glimpses of the day, I still showed you only glimpses, but with a beginning and an end. I will not post the architecture kind of pictures here, but you can find the entire story from the day on my Instagram account in the Travel highlight.

Please let me know where should we travel next? It seems that lately it brings us even more pleasure to travel outside of London, but we do appreciate any suggestion that you might leave in the comments below. Travel inside London or outside? Also, where?

Kisses!

How dairy affects my skin | Origins

Can you tell that I am on a skin care high? While last year I bought quite a lot of makeup products, this year I bought skin care. The fact that my skin was finally improving after so many years of torture, motivated me even more to take care of it.

Last Sunday I was on a photo shooting and I was told something that never ever in my life have I heard before. They told me that my skin looked amazing. They were really nice girls and I was in fact wearing foundation, but still, they complimented my skin! If you had no problem with your skin and trying out a ton of skin care products that were not working for you, you might not understand the importance of this compliment, but for me, it really made my day!

My skins main problem is dairy. It is much easier to control what we eat here in the UK which I am so grateful about, but small accidents still happen. When we go to a restaurant, I am always nervous because I have not checked the products myself to see if they might contain dairy or not. It sounds a bit excessive, but I am so intolerant to it, that even if it says that it might contain dairy, I still break out. And you would be surprised the amount of products that do in fact contain dairy.

Because this is not yet an intolerance that is in trend and people have not heard about it, most often they do not understand it. We might be going out and when it’s dessert time, I am salivating over everything anyone else ordered, but I know I can’t have any. Usually people are nice trying to minimize the issue, telling me that I should eat even just a bit because it is not life threatening intolerance, which they are right, it is not, but it does make me break out with the most painful under the skin spots and we all know what that means to our self confidence.

Which is why I invested in skin care a lot this year. You might have seen my previous posts about my Dior serum or the eye cream that I still use, but most recently I changed my moisturizer also. The one that I use now is the Origins Zero-Oil Moisture Lotion with Saw Palmetto and Mint. These three together have kept my skin at bay for the past weeks or so and I could not be happier. My skin just loves the salicylic acid in all of these products and started minimizing my pores and I get less blemishes. If I eat oily I do get a spot here and there, but they are far less frequent than they were before.

Have you tried anything from the Origins range? I was pleasantly surprised with their moisturizer so in the future I might try to add something else to my skin care routine, but for now I am almost scared to change anything because I feel like I’ve found quite a nice balance.

Kisses!

Would I repurchase?

I sometimes write longer posts but most often they are medium size length. This one though, I want to keep the written part short and precise and let the pictures do the talking. It’s a post about the products that I used up in the previous months and the question that always comes up : “Would I repurchase it?”

1. Makeup

Let’s start with a positive. This concealer has medium coverage and it’s not drying at all. Also, it does not hurt that it’s affordable and you can find it in most drugstores. Definite YES!

It made my lashes incredibly long, but in my opinion, a similar mascara can be found at the drugstore at a friendlier price. For me it was not exciting enough to reconsider buying it. Sorry, no!

This is my work staple. I don’t know if it would work for any skin tone because it’s one of the wearable purples. The formula though is not drying at all, but you would need a lip pencil to keep the lipstick between the lines. The shade is Vintage Rose. YES please, give me more!

This one is great if you need extreme coverage, but if your skin is as oily as mine, keep in mind that in two hours you might resemble a disco ball. I want to try it again when my skin stops being this oily though.

Another mascara that I won’t repurchase. I tried this one at the recommendation of a friend who was completely in love with it. I am however too lazy for this kind of a tubular formula because I found it hard to take off and leaving mascara on my lashes during the night just made them scarce.

However, it started smelling funny after just 2 months of use so this one is like cheating. It’s not an empty, but it’s not a product that I dare to use anymore either.

2. Skin care

I have a whole post about this moisturizer that you can read here. Light, non-oily but still hydrates my skin. I am trying something else in the meantime, but I am sure I will repurchase this one at some point.

Despite it’s friendly price, it removes makeup just as good as the Bioderma one does and doesn’t leave any residue on the skin. Already repurchased it!:D

If you prefer taking off your makeup in the shower, this one is so gentle but effective. I love the smell also. This was a sample but the moment I run out of the cleanser that I use now, this is my next repurchase.

As I mentioned a what feels like a million times before, my skin is very oily and this moisturizer just makes it oilier in two hours from application.  Another thing that I noticed with it and I would be really curious to find out if it only happened to me. After using it for several days, I get those tiny white fat spots…weird.

Yes yes yes! Smells amazing, fresh and hydrates my very dry legs:D

3. Hair

Someone who’s hair is as flat as mine, might already know that this is one of the few products that gives us volume. I already repurchased this at least 10 times and will continue to do that.

This was a travel size that I recently tried. Not much different from the Batiste one, it just feels more wet when you first apply it, but after that you get the same effect.

4. Shower

My favourite shower gel that I tried lately. Yummi orange!

While I do prefer the Orange one more, this one is not bad at all. This if you like the coconut scent.

This shower gel does not live any greasy residue on the skin, but because of the banana scent that for some reason I don’t like in this combination, I won’t repurchase it.

Much fresher than the other one, but then I am so in love with Lime that I would try anything with this scent.

Do let me know if you like this kind of very to the point post and if I should do it again after I gather enough empties for another “would I repurchase” post.

Kisses!
